These are a few of my favorite things...

Although life has been a bit hectic lately, I am trying really hard to make sure that I enjoy the little things. At the end of the day, I am still frazzled and a bit shaken (it is crazy adjusting to two kids!), but at least I have all the little moments with my children that bring me joy and make me smile...and laugh, too! These are the things I want to remember! Here are a few of my favorite things from this past week:

1. Decorating and eating cupcakes with Meredith! I love my Mere-Mere! She is getting to be such a kid! It is so much fun to do little creative/art projects with her because she eats them up...literally! :)

First bite...yum!

All done! :)

2. Sweet little Nora on her 2 month birthday! This little girl is seriously the best baby! She is so happy...and already cooing and smiling all the time! We love having her in our family. It is funny to think that before she was born, I was worried about how this new baby would change our perfect little family. Well, I can't imagine our family without her now. We all love her and I know Meredith can't wait for her to get a bit bigger so they can start playing together!

Here are her stats at 2 months: 10 lbs 11 oz (50 percentile) and 23 inches long (75 percentile). Perfect!!...except for the fact that our poor little girl has a heart murmur. (definitely not one of my favorite things!) Our doctor doesn't think it is a big deal, but we have an appointment next Tuesday with a pediatric cardiologist for a echocardiogram. Keep your fingers crossed that it is minor and will hopefully go away with time!

3. Meredith on her first day of preschool (today!). It is a mommy and me class that we are taking through Coastline Community College. Her friends, Chase & Reagan are in her class with her...their teacher is Miss Jeanette! As you can see from the pictures, Meredith LOVES it! It was so fun to watch her during class today. My favorite was during craft time, she was the last kid working on her art project. Quite the masterpiece! On the way home from preschool, I told her how much I loved her picture and that daddy was going to love it, too. Her response..."He will love it...it is soooo bootiful (beautiful)!" :)

At preschool, Meredith immediately found water to play in...NOT surprising at all! She found a net and filled it up with fish and any other sea creatures she could find, then she would transfer them back and forth between the two tables! She had a blast getting soaking wet!

Having fun playing the tambourine...like a drum! :)

The masterpiece!

4. My favorite new picture of the girls! Priceless...well, priceless to me! I can't wait to hang it up on the wall!

Curly Top

It is so fun to have girls! It seriously is like having little dolls around to play dress-up with! The only problem is that I'm not particularly a girly-girl! I realized the other day, that I still have never curled Meredith's hair...so I decided it was time. While we were in Arizona I snagged my mom's pink sponge curlers and this morning I went to work! I decided to document my efforts with pictures...so enjoy! I'm sure you can tell from the pictures that she really liked her curly hair! After I took out the rollers, she kept saying..."I love them...I love them!"

More Arizona fun...

While we have been in Arizona, Nora turned 7 weeks old. Here are a few pictures that we took of her...we finally caught a couple of her smilling! I also posted a couple of misc. pics from the last few days!

Fun in the sun

We have been in Arizona visiting my family this past week and as you can tell we have been spending a lot of time in their pool. It has been too hot to do much else. Meredith was a bit timid about the water in the beginning, but by the end she was swimming all by herself (with floaties, of course!)

Our visit with Shamu

My family stayed in town for a few days after the baby blessing, so on Monday we decided to go to Sea World. We took Meredith there last October and she loved it, so we were excited to go back. It was a terribly hot day, unfortunately, but as soon as the sun went down...it was great!

Trying to keep the baby from getting sunburned! Poor thing!

Meredith's favorite part of the day...petting the pig from the pet show :)
At the end of the day we went to the Shamu Rocks show. Meredith loved it...but can you tell how loud the music was? She kept her hands over her ears through the whole show!

Nora's Baby Blessing

We blessed Nora this past Sunday, August 3rd. It was a special day and we want to thank everyone who shared the day with us. I want to especially thank my family for coming all the way from Arizona and Texas to be here! Also...special thanks to my great mother-in-law for allowing us to have the luncheon at her house (since our place is way to small to house 60+ people!). Here are a few pictures that we took at the luncheon.
